It's so great to see your drawings. Something clicked inside of me as I looked at them. These drawings ARE you- the same you that used to sit & draw with the same me. It's a visual language that goes way back. I love getting just old enough to piece together emotions & memories from younger days with new memories & experiences. Thanks for sharing yours. Delightful!!
i love that. a "visual language". that's exactly how i see it.
does the bottom picture remind you of walking to and from your house for lunch durring school? i remember the day your mom said we were too old to take a bath together. we were like, what? why?
you really should email me a sketch or two so i can post them here. do some about when we were kids. i love your sketching style.
Lol about the wonky bathtub:) I'm glad, though, that you enjoy your bowers...it looks relaxing!
Because our bathroom is so undone due to the remodel, we have to actually reach into the wall behind the tub to plug up the drain. The shower/bath surround itself is covered with plastic to protect the not-yet-tiled cement board. Every once in a while, I'm still able to enjoy a peaceful bath despite it all (on those stressful days that I **need** to soak). But most times I just hop in the shower, wanting to get in and out of there as quickly as possible!
despite my enjoyment of bowers and shaths, we sometimes have hotwater shortages. i have gotten in the bath waiting for a nice warm bower, and no hot water. it's enough to make you cry! especially being pregnant and having so few ways to vices.
I just stumbled upon your blog through a friend's (Kim) blog. I lvoe your drawings of your life as a SAHM in NYC. I'm a jersey girl who works in NYC, I am an artist too.
I think it's a neat idea that you post your drawings as entries. It sounds like a great artistic outlet for a busy mommy (and mom-to-be --- congrats!) as yourself.
I don't blog at blogger, but if you'd like to visit my blog sometime, I'm at http://michmind.blogdrive.com.
