howdy all!

we're leaving for lebanon, tennessee late tonight, and will be gone for a week, so i won't be logging on as often untill my return, upon which i shall tell you all about our travels.

i will be checking my emails, at stephie@gieg.net so for those of you in tennessee, that's a good way for us to hook up.

please feel free to chat here in my absence, as i will be poking my head in occaisionally. our little nook has become a cozy tea room, and i wouldn't think of closing it up for a minute!

love, stephie

You're so cute!! I don't mind if it doesn't totally LOOK like me. It's capturing the essence of everyone that counts more! Jeff says I always draw myself in the artistic ideal. Why wouldn't I!!!!!?, I ask him.

Nice to "see" Pearl, Kim, Michelle, you & Ashlee.

(P.S.- My hair currently looks more like yours than anything!! Isn't that weird?!)

I currently live in Springfield, IL in a big old falling apart house with too much character to keep up with!!! My husband & I are both originally from St. Louis, MO. We moved here 6 years ago (long story). So for now it's home!

jodi- remember how we used to use the word "cute" as an insult? a way to say that while someone could be attractive stylish in the eyes of the mainstream, to us they were tacky and completely lacking in originality? what'r u tryin to say, huh????

just kidding. it's funny how things like that are unimportant now. in the real world. thanks for the complement. email us a picture, so i can see how you look now! i haven't seen you in like 12 years??

btw, i totally believe in drawing myself in the artistic ideal! but i also like to make fun of myself, too. like drawing my mouth huge, and wide-open. which it always is. it's actually bigger than it looks in the picture.

kim- thanks, i had to draw you really cute after all your hard work getting in shape!

You're just adorable- that's all! We were funny little ones at 15, weren't we?! I think we just wanted to be recognized for who we were! Now that enough years have passed to see it, I know that we're the same little us, but with so much more that's happened to us since. When I look back at my drawings, for instance, I see what appealed to me then, & where I was going (or trying to go), & how I've just carried it out more completely since. And then there's funny little stuff that used to bother me- like being flat-chested, that's hardly a consideration anymore, because I so know who I am & why that's good. Hey those two little boobies kept two babies alive, thriving & happy!! And look at all the lovely runway models with little bosoms!! I'm just part of the variety that keeps life so interesting! (But sometimes I do look longingly at a lovely halter dress & sigh...)

my breasts have multiple personalities. they're small when one of my kids weans, then they fill out again when i'm pregnant. big, small, full, floppy. up again, out again, in again, out again.

some of the most beautiful girls i know have small perky ones. it's amazing how differently they view themselves. one is extremely confident, and therefore has a very sensual presence, and a few of them are very sensitive about it and talk about implants.

i've learned alot from the confident ones. it really doesn't matter at all what size a person is, especially to little babies.

I picked me out immediately! Lookee lookee my long neck and striped athletic-wear (which I am in 90% of the time). I have annoying bangs in the growing-out stage but other than that, a very respectable charicature.

Can't wait to see you this week...calling you at Gieg's tomorrow, k?

Oh, and the title of this post 'the brood' brings to mind a HORRIBLE old horror movie about a woman who gives birth to multiple alien babies in order to take over the planet or something...LOL!

Let's see, how many children among us...
Jodie=2
Bev=2
Kim=3
Stephie=3
Ashley=2
Michelle=?

That's at LEAST 12...a pretty respectable start, I'd say. Mwa ha ha ha....

Aaaggh! I love it! I am so going to keep it!

The only ones I recognize is me, Kim and you!

That is a really cool drawing and I'm so flattered that you included me, heh heh.

Oh and I only have 1 little girl (13 months old), so that makes 13 kids between us :)
Perhaps by next year the number will bump up to 14, heh heh.

Oh and steph, if you don't mind I'd like to add your link to my blog!

EVERYONE!!!!

pearl was just injured in a very bad car accident. she was on her way to see me, driving from franklin, tn to lebanan, tn, when she had a wreck and rolled her car 3 times. the details are still a little bit hazy. all i know is that her two boys are ok, (a few scratches) but she has a broken collar bone, fractured shoulder blade, 4 broken ribs, and a punctured lung. she is now at vanderbilt hospital in nashville. she may be home tomorrow, so some of you may want to email her through me: at stephie@gieg.net or you can leave her a message here.

hope all of you are safe and well.

love, steph

Dear Pearl,

Life is so fickle, isn't it? Just when you think you're getting along with it, it has you in a headlock.

I'm really sorry to hear about the accident - how scary! I am relieved to hear that you may be coming home soon where I hope you will recover quickly (although, when you have kids - a hospital might actually be more conducive to rest and relaxation than home - hmmm....Do they make you leave if you don't want to? lol) All of us from the Bouldin clan send our love, well wishes, and sloppy kisses:) You are in our prayers and thoughts - love you bunches:)

Kim, Jeff, Sydney, Lindsay, and Zoe

Oh,what a horrible thing to happen to someone as dear as Pearl!!!!! (and at such a horrible time!!) I detest Satan's sense of humor! Such a joyous reunion should not be tainted by such nastiness. I'm sending love & get well thoughts to Pearl. Wish I could hug you & say "No fair. No fair." (It always helps my children). Of course, hugs may cause more pain, so how 'bout a virtual hug instead. I'm glad to hear that the boys are relatively okay, but my thoughts & prayers go out to all of you in the wake of such a frightful experience!

Love,
Jodi

All my love Beverly. I would love to call you but no one seems to know your number and haven't been able to reach Michael. I was shocked to find out your accident was severe...I thought it was a fender bender. Poor babies!

Take care of yourself.

Oh, poor you!! I'm usually not even up this late these days, but I'm glad I am toni... THIS morning. Oh, I saw the time and date, & I was thinking it was now, but it was a little over 24 hours ago. Still- my wee-hour thoughts are with you. I've been up decoupaging. I attempted to start this project while the wee ones were still up (what was I thinking?!) Then insomnia beckoned me back. It's a gift for Morrin's [former] teachers at daycare. She's switching to a new room- rather against my will. Her recent teachers were wonderful- about accomodating us as Jehovah's Witnesses & just really warm & loving instead of institutional. So, I'm praying all works out in her new setting. There are good points- she'll see her older brother more, since they'll both be in the pre-school section now. Anyway...I'm making little glass magnets w/ decoupaged pictures on the back, housed in re-appropriated Altoids tins. I just finished, & am pretty pleased with the results. I checked here before shutting down for the night & saw Pearl's plea. I wish I could be there with you!! I loley & hope you get blissful rest sometime very soon, & for as long as you need.
