hey michelle, i'm sorry if your comment got deleted. i think you may have posted it just as i was making some last minute changes to the picture.

the drawing is actually supposed to be me and pearl, the way we were circa 1991. i'm the one on the right. the outfits are based on things we actually wore! LOL

Beautiful! Great job, Stephie:) I had long hair with bangs in 1991 - and loved the hoop earrings and long necklaces...(still do, though hoop earrings aren't very practical when you have bebes -*ouch*)

Btw, your artwork is just getting better and better!

OH MY GOODNESS, WHAT A SWEET SURPRISE. i'm imagining what we are saying. did we know we were that cute? i dont think i did...it's so funny that yu chose this theme because i was just reminiscing about our st. louis times and thinking that might be a really nice place to meet for a girl weekend. maybe we could stay with nanna like we did when yu had yur...er...reception. remember jodi? we stayed up all nite laughing and ruth was there too...?
it's a shame, really that when yu think of it, as much as we love to be together, we have very memories like the illustration after those years. it seems they all involve hoards of other people and yu and i trying to sneak some quiet communion.
such is life, i suppose, but promise me that when we are older we will sit in just such a place in just such a way dressed just as smartly and enjoy ourselves!
i am honored by the homage and by the tasteful handling of breast size :/ i loley so many!

Yes I do remember staying up & sneaking around in Stephie's Nanna's house looking for a cafe-maker! Then we played charades, & Pearl got the word hemmoroid (oops! Hope I'm not causing laughter-pain!) You put blush all over your face & came out of the bathroom! I coulda died- in fact I'm sitting here laughing, just remembering & typing it. Wow! What a distant time, but so vivid! Oh, I miss you girls so it aches! St. Louis would be great. I live only 2 hours away, so it would be ever-so-simple for me to get there. Altho' I really want to go to NY. I haven't been there for 16 years, & it sounds so yummy. I see it as a chic, girl reunion (altho' currently having tight funds, I'd have to be more creative in finding a way to get there). But I'll do anything to be there, & meet you anywhere- I want it so much!!

Maybe it's a shame that our memories are so few; or maybe it's remarkable that despite such few reunions, we've all affected one another so profoundly, & still love one another so much! I'm grateful that you've extended some of your familial love to silly old me! Hey- hopefully we can all be dear friends & cousins & sisters for eternity, & remember helping each other thru' tears & laughter alike. Let's have parties & long conversations when were 5500 years old, 'kay? (Sorry- I'm a sentimental girl- LOL)

Hi Stephie. I found your blog through a search for the name "Gieg" - your husband's last name? There just aren't that many Giegs, so I thought I would say Hey.
I am John Gieg - 46 years old - an artist, graphic designer and married father of two. I love to draw, I see you do as well. Colored pencil? Watercolor or wax based? I live in Massachusetts but love Brooklyn. Best wishes, John Gieg
