Cool, that's such a neat gift to give to friends. I can tell it's probably a spoon sitting inside and th efork is laying across the bowl. Looks like the scanner left out the edge of the bowl which makes it harder to see, but I figured that from the last drawing.
it is a shame, because the actual watercolor painting is so pretty. the scanner didn't pick up the edges of the bowl, or the lavender background, and it messed with the values of things, so you can't see some shadows under the fork, etc. thanks anyway, michelle!
in answer to your question, ashley, it is a fork and spoon. i was a little nervous about this painting to begin with, because parts of the photograph were in sharp focus, and parts of it were completely blurred, almost invisible. i've never painted anything from a blurred photo before.
the handles are transluscent topaz colored plastic. see the rim of the bowl through the fork handle? maybe i'll scan the photo in so you can see it better.

well, they have beautifully polished handles! Love it!
